The Reading Volunteer Fire Department is located  in South Streator, IL. in Livingston Co. The department was formed in 1956 and currently has 23 members including Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs and First Responders. Reading Fire Dept. is a member of the MABAS Division 23 and MABAS Division 25 of Lasalle Co. Department apparatus includes two Engines, one Tender ,one Rescue and one brush Truck. For specialty units we have a Polaris Ranger XP700 with a skid unit for rescue and field fires. The MABAS 23 Hazmat trailer is stored at our station and we also have two rescue boats.
